SKLaw has an extensive public policy practice involving local, state, and federal government entities. The firm’s capacity in this area includes the representation of a wide spectrum of private and public clients in government relations, lobbying, and administrative law matters. Since 1966, SKLaw lawyers have been leading practitioners in the fields of lobbying and political endeavors before the Texas Legislature. Believing in the adage, that “all politics is local,” the firm participates heavily in the campaign and election processes at all levels of government.

The public law aspect of the firm’s work includes the representation of water districts, special authorities, cities, and counties, with respect to a full array of legal issues. In this regard, the firm specializes in urban and public infrastructure development. In addition to government entities, the firm’s practice in this area includes the counseling of private commercial and residential development entities.

SKLaw’s representation of government entities includes a significant specialized public finance practice. The firm is nationally recognized as bond counsel by the Bond Buyer’s Municipal Market Place (the Red Book).
