Susan Demiany is a senior legal assistant in the public law and special district practice areas. She is a specialist in government entity representation and finance, assisting attorneys in special district and authority operating, construction, election, and bond related matters. She has been extensively involved in all legal and administrative issues facing water and management districts. Among the many services she provides are meeting participation, minute preparation, legal document administration and preparation, and government filings. Ms. Demiany has extensive experience in all aspects of public finance. She also is an expert in the conduct of public elections, compliance matters relating to the Texas Open Meeting Acts, the Open Records Act, public official ethics, and record retention requirements. She has been active in the Association of Water Board Directors. Ms. Demiany is a well-known and respected player in the water district industry.

Ms. Demiany also maintains an involvement in local and state executive and legislative processes. In this respect, she assists in the monitoring and tracking of governmental actions, including measures pending before the Texas Legislature.

Prior to joining SKLaw, Ms. Demiany was a financial advisory assistant with Underwood Neuhaus & Co., Inc., in the Public Finance Section. Prior to that she was a legal assistant with the law firm of Fullbright & Jaworski in the Public Law Section.

Ms. Demiany was born in Houston, Texas. She received a B.S. degree from the University of Texas. Her associations and sororities include Faithful Paws and Zeta Tau Alpha. She is an active participant in the St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church.
