Ryan LaRue is a Partner with SKLaw, and has practiced law for more than 14 years. His practice is focused in public law and public finance. He provides general counsel and bond counsel services to a variety of special districts. He is also involved in the creation of special districts through both the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the Texas Legislature.
Prior to joining SKLaw, Mr. LaRue worked for State Senator Tommy Williams in the Texas Senate. While working for Senator Williams, he held various positions and covered numerous Senate committees including the Finance Committee, the State Affairs Committee, the Jurisprudence Committee, the Governmental Relations Committee, and the Administration Committee. Before the convening of the 82nd Legislature, Senator Williams appointed Mr. LaRue Director of the Senate Committee on Transportation and Homeland Security, a position he held until he joined SKLaw.
An Eagle Scout, Mr. LaRue is a native Houstonian who graduated from Washington and Lee University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History in 2001. Following college, he completed his law degree at the University of Houston Law Center and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2005. He is an active parishioner at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church and is a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Breeders Greeters Committee. He enjoys the outdoors and likes to spend his time hiking, fishing, and traveling.
